The last couple of years, I have really documented Bently and Ashton's going ons on Facebook. What is unfortunate is that there is no record of that. So... I will just put a scrap book of photos together and create an album and start blogging again, so that I can print books for our memories. I love these children and they are a blessing everyday, can't wait to start keeping up with their cute stuff right here.

This is Bently's second snow in McComb Mississippi. Ashton wasn't with us on this wintery morning and Daddy had to work. But Big Jim came over and built us a snow man. She didn't like being down in the snow as you can tell... but she thought it was funny when Big Jim threw snowballs at she and Granny.

Okay... I know... these are a bit out of order, but I downloaded some pictures from my mom's camera. She got some cute shots of Bently when Joey and I were in the Bahamas... so here goes. We always have a fun Christmas Celebration at Nana's house. She cooks a fabulous meal and we spend time with people we love. This year... we had some big hits in the gift department. Nana gave Ashton a guitar hero attachment and game for his DS and gave Bently a wonderful wagon. She LOOOOOOVVVVVEEEESSSSSS it. The boys got snuggies as requested and Aunt Mandi had them monogrammed. Matt and I were sporting our new iPhones and I loved my scarf and jewelry from Paula. Bently got squeeky shoes and there were many other great gifts. Ms. Dianna made us fun stockings this year filled with really fun and useful things. Great time... great memories.

On a cool December day... is there anything better than a pretty Christmas sweater?!? Bently sported her cute one that my friend Shelley sent to her. Marie Elise was so sweet to let her mama send it to Bently and few other cute Christmas outfits. She wore her Santa Shirt to visit Santa and there is a picture of her bundled up at the Christmas Parade.

Mrs. Claus stopped by to see a few kids in Brookhaven. She came in on a carriage and let the kids take turns riding the carriage pulled by two white horses. It was beautiful day for a carriage ride.

The WEE Center had a Christmas program where the kids sang Christmas songs and entertained for the parents. The babies (Bently's group) came in the room in their wagon. She was swaying to the music. Bently loves, loves, loves to dance. The second you start jingle bells, she is in the moment and moving. The whole group was too cute.

Aunt Addie bought the girls these super cute dresses. I love that they are snowflakes. We have cute Christmas dresses and then in January she can wear her winter wonderland dress. Bently has worn hers to church with white tights and a turtle neck.

Wee Center

This is a picture of Bently heading to her first day at the Wee Center. Ms. Beverly called me on a Friday and told me that we could start after Thanksgiving. We were so excited for Bently to start this new journey. I went with her a few

days during Thanksgiving so she could get use to the environment. She loved all of the space and especially loved getting to go outside on the fabulous playground. Our picture is inside the car, because the ladies get the kids out of the cars for us in the mornings. They said that it is easier for them to leave us than to watch us leave them. She has two sweet teachers Ms. Cyn and Ms. Shay... and Beverly (Bae-Bae) to keep an eye on her.

Santa Rocks and so can I.... you hear me?!?!

This year Anna Lauren and family joined us for our hunt for the perfect Christmas tree. My job is to pick it out, Ashton's job is to cut it down, Joey gets it in the back of the truck and sets it up at home, and Bently's job this year was to undecorate it. Fun times.... fun memories!!!!!!

This was as pretty as our tree got this year. Well, it was pretty decorated as long as it wasn't lit. We got LED Christmas lights this year and they put off a gray glow into the neighborhood... I called it our sewage treatment glow. But it was pretty in its own way. The tree itself was beautiful.

Robby and Natalie hosted Bently's first birthday party at their farm house in Magnolia. Kelly from the Flower Nook decorated and no detail was left untouched. The theme was a fairy party and all of the little girls wore their beautiful wings. Bently wore a dress that Robby and Natalie bought for her at a boutique in New York when they first found out I was having a girl. Natalie said it was for her to wear to her first birthday party and it was perfect. They had a giant cupcake jumper for the kids... crafts for the kids... and fabulous snacks for all.

Franklinton Fair

Every year the Hales' family heads to Franklinton, La for the Washington Parish Free Fair. We go every year and we always have a big time. With the little ones these past couple of years, we have missed out on the late evening music, but have still enjoyed some of our favorites. Chicken at Bowling Green booth... seafood pasta dishes... ice cream dipped in chocolate... pig skins... cheese from the village... roasted peanuts... turkey legs... candied apples... and cotton candy. And on top of all the eating we enjoy many of the activites. Walking through the village... visiting the animals and petting areas. This year the kids got to hold rabbits and chicks. Then we head to the mid-way for rides and games. Kade Boone came with us this year and we had a big time.

Joey and I went to the Bahamas during fall break. October 2009. We feel that it is important for us to keep our marriage renewed and exciting. We love our children more than we can put into words and we love them even more after an evening out together and/or a week vacation together. Bently spent the week making memories with my sister and my mom and dad.

We set sail on Royal Carribean out of Miama Florida. The first night was VERY ROCKY. Joey got a bit sick, but we survived and woke up in Nassaeu. It was the most beautiful water I have ever seen. We rented a little beach spot at the Hilton and spent the day reading and relaxing on the beach under an umbrella. We went shopping at the Straw Market. We bought bently a straw purse and watched a lady put her name on it. We got Ashton a little carved box with a shark on it.

After a totally relaxing day, we went back to the ship for a nice dinner. We learned that our trip to Coco Cay the next day was cancelled due to waves. We were just sick... we had a jet ski and snorkle excursion planned. We pouted for a few minutes and then got over it... we were on vacation. So, we spent the next day at sea. I finished my book... Water for Elephants... and hung by the pool most of the day.

On our final day, we went kyacking and had a big time in Key West. I ate a piece of key lime pie on a stick dipped in chocolate. And speaking of food... we ate the entire trip. And it was fabulous food. We loved the fine dinning and the buffets and the pool side extravaganzas.

It was a great trip and a great time. I love my husband.

Never fear... Pampered chef kid's safety knife to the rescue. Greatest thing for those do it yourself kid style projects. Ashton's pumkin looks great this year. Last year's was a bit frightening and this year all of the features are very distinct. The pumkin has one triangle eye and one round eye for interest. And it has a smile so that it won't scare Bently. What a sweet big brother.

Oh, and I threw in the picture of Bently when I wouldn't let her be in the middle of the pumkin fun. Ha... she loves to do whatever brother is doing.

I carved out the top of the pumpkin... set up a little area for Ashton to dig out the seeds and for Bently to take it all in. Well, she (as I should have known) wanted to be in the middle of it all. Bless her sweet little self... she was picking up the gunk and looking at it and right as I was snapping a picture... in went a hand full. And the funny part was that she kept going back for me... she loved it. Ashton dug out all of the seeds and we have them ready for toasting.

Country Club Dinner

Ashton has had a Super behavior report for every day in October. So to celebrate we went to the country club for dinner for his favorite- Fried Crawfish Salad.... oh, and don't forget the sprite with cherries. This was Bently's first Country Club dinner and she was very well behaved. I like being able to go nice places with my children and not expect a scene. Now, call me in another year and we will see if I can still say the same. Bently really enjoyed the bread sticks and Ashton had our server dig up a Sponge Bob ice cream bar, with licorice gum eye balls, left over from this summer. Yum... Yum!!!!!!!! Mommie had a fabulous pork chop with a crushed pineapple sauce and Daddy had Blackened Catfish Angie (crawfish sauce). Then Mommie took home a piece of bread pudding. It was a fun evening. I love my sweet family.

My friend Linda can't come to Bently's birthday party so she sent her gift home with Me. Bently had so much fun with the pretty princess bag and tissue paper. It had the most beautiful hand carved wooden cross with a puter little girl kneeled to pray in the center. And had "God Bless Benlty" carved into the wood. And Bently's favorite part of the gift were the animal crackers. We had to open them as you can see the mouth full.

Fall Fun!!!

A little fall air has found its way to Southwest Mississippi. It is our seasonal cool in the mornings... hot by noon... then nice by evening. Our Sunday School class had a party this evening. We ate chicken and homemade cake... jumped on the trampoline... rode in wagons... and went on a hay ride. We had a big time. Bently thought she was so big sitting on that trailor stuffed with hay. And Ashton met a new friend. This was Bently's first time to wear blue jeans. She had forgotten all about long sleeves and pants until this week. She looks at them like something foreign has landed on her body. Too cute. And you know what I say... Bow Big, or Bow Home!!!!!!

Art for Sale

During Bently and Daddy's nap... Ashton and I visited our creative sides. He said that he wants to try to sell his art again. Last year, I think around this time, he put his pictures on sale for 25 cents a piece. He said that he wanted two dollars for each picture and I told him that times were tight right now with money and people were looking for deals... so he told me the second one would be half price. He also painted picture frames onto his art so that people would not have to pay for frames... making the purchase of his art even more of a deal. I posted a few of his cutest ones... but the entire collection/exhibit is on display for public viewing at Harmony St. Come on by... or for aunts and uncles far away, we do have shipping and an IOU will be fine. He was quite tickled to learn that his art would be on the internet.

Ashton is loving second grade. He loves his teacher and he loves his gifted class on Fridays. He is reading on a 5th grade level but we love how he cant remember what he went to his room for. Ha. He is giggles and smiles. He loves his Nintendo DS, still loves his cartoons, and loves his art.

You should see this little diva rock on the drums. She hold those sticks and alternates arms and doesn't miss a beat. We are not big music folks... so we will have to look into this in the future. I met Ashton when he was about 18 months old. By his second birthday, he had stolen my heart. When he was turning 2 and the next year when he was turning 3, he would say I'm gunna be seben. Well, this year it happened... out little man actually turned seven. Time flies and I am so glad that he is part of what makes my life whole.

He wanted a Poke Mon birthday this year. Unlike his usually strange request... last year he originally wanted a summer santa clause party and changed his mind to sharks at the last minute. Then when he was three, he wanted a Doctor Phil birthday party... might explain, well I won't go there. But this year it was Poke Mon or bust. You can see his cool PokeMon swim suit that Granny got for him and you can see the back yard of the house we are buying. And my favorite is the pic of those sweet cheeks blowing out the candles for his sebenth birthday wish... don't you wish you knew what he wished for.... shhhhhh, I do!

Decorating the Birthday Cake

Granny always decorates the grandkids birthday cakes, as she did for us when we were young. The only cool thing now, is that being the cool grandmother she is... the grandkids get a cake of their own to decorate. Well.... as you can see in the pics.... Ashton's is the smaller cake and he did very good with his Poke' ball cake. Granny and I decorated the other one, so that there is a cake that little licked fingers have not dug into. He has the best time doing this. What a fun memory!!!!

We went out to the club for an afternoon swim and the rain followed us. It was raining in McComb also but Ashton reminds me that the country club has its own weather. He got to swim a little bit with no lightening... but we hung out on the porch hoping it would pass. No luck... we had to go home. But not before Momma took some fun shots of my babies.

Bently has a very sweet nature. But honey hush, when she gets the tude. She has recently started saying No, No. And it is very cute and very scary at the same time. She will hit you when she is not in the best mood and when she is not getting her way. We are working on this. I'm not picturing me having a little chick who runs my house. Well.... I don't think I would. :) She really is a doll and is very laid back. We are soooo blessed!

Many times there are just no words to express how much I love Bently. My favorite moments are when she sits in the rocker with me and snuggles her face as close to mine as she can get it. She makes the sweetest sound when she does this. Sometimes, she even falls asleep this way. Like she can't get close enough to me. And I love it... I want her to forever need me like this. How Great Is our GOD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Shelves for Momma

Joey and Ashton built me some beautiful shelves for my office. I have received sooo many compliments on them. I stained them, which was a lot more difficult than I thought it would be. Ashton used some of his tools and did a great job with the nails. Bently is also pictures... she is in her little outside swim pool. Fun day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

After dinner... Bently takes her bath. She likes to splash and play with her bath toys that she got from the Santa bag this past Christmas. For some reason she specifically likes the red crab the best. Right now she enjoys taking the little boy from her blocks and putting him in her shower cup in the bath. Then she fishes him out of the cup. Sometimes she pours him out of the cup onto her face and sputters. She loves to kick in the tub like she is swimming and loves for me to pour water on her face. She thinks it is soooo funny.

Camp Sunshine

Bently and I went out to Camp Sunshine one day to see what all was going on. Camp Sunshine is a camp for Special Needs "young at heart" individuals. A lot goes into the preparation for Camp Sunshine and the volunteers leave with sooo much. I helped with Camp when I was younger. I helped with the swimming before the pool days. Now that I have joined the Junior Auxiliary... I look forward to playing a big role in Camp in the future. These are a few pics with Aunt Addie.

Bently had sleep over company Monday night. Her cousin, Anna Lauren, came over to play with Bently and spend the night with her. With Anna Lauren came Nanna. She watched the girls while I taught at Co-Lin. By the time I got home, all was quiet. They must have had the pillow fights and made the prank calls before I got home. Then Nanna let me sleep late. That is always a nice treat.

Mommie didn't do too good with the 4th of July photos. I got a shot of the fireworks shirt that Ashton made at Grannie's house for the occasion. They started out using a bleach pin and it just wouldn't work, so off to WalMart they went for some t-shirt paint. So here they are all decked out in their red & white.

We went to the Country Club for a fun day. Daddy played in a golf tournament with Big Jim, Hugh, and Shane. The kids, me, Granny, Aunt Addie, Paige, and Bailey played at the pool. They had water slides and a live band. We ate Bar-b-que for lunch and Bently fell asleep in the pool on Bailey's shoulder after getting toooo sleepy.

The newest Fernwood Country Club golf "pro"

Ashton went to golf camp this summer and he really enjoyed it. He arrived the first day and Mr. David, FCC golf pro, divided the kids into two teams... balancing age as much as possible. He was on the Golden Bears and they were up against Arnie's Army. They earned points for different things accomplished throughout the week and he won a trophy at the end of the week because he was on the winning team. Yea, Golden Bears.

Ashton has "played" golf with his Daddy and Big Jim. After the first day, he told me that he was afraid that there might be some things that Big Jim doesn't know about golf because he learned some stuff that he hasn't shown him.

Another day he asked me if Big Jim is a golf pro. I told him that he didn't have that title... No. He said, Well, I told Mr. David that my Big Jim hits further than him so I guess Big Jim is as good as a pro, huh Momma.

He had a big time and said that he would listen more now to Daddy and Big Jim about golf, because he can't wait to play in his first tournament.

Bently spent the day doing three of her new favorite things. Reading, Crawling, and Scooting in her Walker. She is sooo cute with her favorite book. The wheels on the bus. The pages are very bright and colorful and the objects move on the page. She touches the little wheel everytime I turn the page because she knows I have to touch it to make things happen.

She loves crawling and pulling up on anything and everything that is around. We made the living room Bently friendly with lots of space for moving around.

There is also lots of space for her walker. She looooooves it. She boogies all over the play area and makes spit noises. Her new noise today is a clicking sound with her tounge. We think everything new is too cute.

Oh, and I forgot we went to the germ pit that day, too. So I included a snap of her in the high chair at Mickey D's. Ashton decided that she was going to go down the small slide.... so she did. He told me he could take her through the tunnell, but we passed. Smiles.

Family Dresses

Bently modeled for a few pictures in a few very, very old family dresses. We also got a few snaps of her in a vintage pillow case dress that Aunt Nat purchased for the girls when we were at a local artist market like thing in NYC. Sorry, Aunt Nat, I know those events have a fancy name. lol. Anyway, the funniest part of the "photo shoot" was when we put on the tadded hat. Natalie said something like... Before I comment on this, where did this hat come from? lol. It turned out super cute, though. All of the pictures are fabulous, so check out my facebook photo albums to see them all. .

Tradition

Big Jim always takes William to the train in Downtown McComb. They look at the train and climb on the caboose and walk the "track" (the one where the locomotive is on display). William learned this trip that the cross ties are placed at an uneven distance from one another as to prevent people from walking the tracks. One can not get a good rythmn going with the ties at a unrythmic pattern. Neato. William always gets his picture taken in from of the train so we can compare how much he has grown, from year to year. And they find my PaPaw's brick.

Meet Hermit and Hermit

The first hermit crab we bought was a free one that came with the cage. Well, it never moved and we are pretty sure that if it wasn't dead when we got it, it was dead the next morning. So, we laid it to rest on the highway and got another one on our way home. Joey went ahead and got two, because we are not so sure that they can be replaced in McComb.

Me: So, Ashton what are you going to name your new hermit crabs.

Ashton: Hermit and Hermit

Me: Why don't you give them different names

Ashton: Because I can tell them apart. See, this one is Big Hermit and this one is Little Hermit.

Ashton is in the picture with Big Hermit and William is holding Little Hermit. Big Hermit actually pinched Ashton when we got home and Joey had to show him how to not scare the crap out of it. Our impulsive little man.

We are glad that there is a new pet, because Ashton doesn't know yet that Jasmyn died this week. Jasmyn is the pug (lil black bull dog as Ashton called her for a long time) that Ashton got for his 4th birthday. We will miss little Snazzy Jazzy.

We have a ton of fun Gulf Shore's pictures. Check out my picture albums on Facebook for a complete look. We drove to Alabama in two vehicles. The enclave held 4 kids, 1 granny, 1 mommie, and 1 daddy. The pawpaw car held Big Jim, 2 aunts, and an uncle. Both held luggage. We stayed at the Warf which was an amazing place. The salt water pool was an Oasis. It has a simulated beach with a wave pool... lazy river... water falls... pool basketball... a mini wipe out course... a swimming area... a kids area with water slides. It was great.

We arrived Saturday and went out to eat dinner. Had oysters and other seafood bites.

On Sunday, the men went deep sea fishing, MaryAlice and I took William and Ashton to Waterville, and Granny and Aunt Nat did the Oasis with the girls. Waterville was big fun. The boys had a grin on their faces all day and were eventually wiped out from the fun. They rode waterslides (huge ones) and rode the rollercoaster, bungiejumpy thingy, and go-carts. It was all about them day, so they even had icecream for lunch. WOW!

On Monday, the men went to play golf while the ladies took the kiddos to the oasis. Then we switched places with the men... Ladies (+Bently) went shopping and the men took the kiddos to the oasis.

On Tuesday, we experienced the public beach. We hauled all our stuff to the beach and had a big time. I will say, however, that if you are a die hard beach fan.... stay at the beach. You need the condo near by with lil ones. But it was still fun and we wanted them to experience the real thing, also.

Wednesday was a little putt putt and traveling home.

Fit in to all of this picking out hermit crabs, cooking dinner, sitting on the balcony for chats and you fill a vacation with lots of great times.

Granny always lets the grandkids decorate a cake of their own and then she and the mommies decorate another one (the good one, shhhh). William had a race car birthday party on his birthday, June 10, 2009, in McComb. He turned 4. I can't believe it. He is so precious to us all. William has a sensitive heart and a fun loving attitude about everything. I love him so much. Ashton helped out by decorating a few cupcakes for the occassion.

Mary Alice was in Mississippi for a nice long visit with William and Breanne. We went and picked up Reid and Jake one day and went to the country club for a long afternoon. We had a big time. Ashton loves to spend time with Reid and Jake. He is finally old enough to fit into their definition of fun. And then he has a blast with William, as well. It is fun to see how easily he can conform to fit the situation.

I love, love, love to get Bently dressed for church. She has the prettiest dresses that I have bought and others have purchased for her. When Bently stays with her Nanna while I teach at Co-Lin they go for walks and love to visit one of Nanna's friends. Ms. Merrell made this super cute dressed by hand and the smocked duckies are soooo cute. Pretty girl!

I have looked everywhere with no success. The last time I remember having it was at school. And you know what that means. Stolen. So... I am going today to buy a new camera. MaryAlice, Mike, and the babies are coming this week and then the next week is Gulf Shores where Robby and Natalie will also be with us. Can't be without a camera. Bently's baby dedication

Bently's Baby Dedication Day was very special. She was all dressed up in a dress that her great-grandmoter made for her and her Great Aunt smocked. She had her big girl bow in her hair and wore a silver bangle bracelet that Granny and Big Jim gave her for the occassion. She had on Mommie's cross necklace under her dress that Big Jim gave to Mommie on the day Bently was born. It was a very special day and some very special people were there to share the day. We missed Uncle Robby and Aunt MaryAlice and their families.

Joey and I dedicated Bently to the church. We promised to give her a Christian home and our church family promised to help us raise her in a church that is filled with every day people, loving Jesus, and Making Him Known.

Bunny Picture Day was a lot of fun... well, most of it. Bently was nt wanting to do much smiling because she got bit by the bunny. But she was a trooper for the most part. Ashton, however, had a blast and thought it was totally cool that he was taking pictures with a live bunny. Maureen does such a good job with the kids and I always look forward to our next session with her.

The Roberson Family loaded up the Enclave and headed to New Orleans. Ms. Dianna went with us and we had a big day. It was one of those days that made me stop and say.... "yea, this is what I've been waiting for." We went to Jackson square and checked out the boats... went to eat in the quarter... and rode the street car to the aquarium... and saw a 3D imax movie. It was a fun day.

Two weeks old

The first few weeks were very interesting and wonderful and scarey and emotional. I, from time to time, would be so up and down with my emotions and Joey was a rock in helping me out until my hormones leveled. I had never had interrupted sleep and it was a combination of a lack of sleep with the worries. But it was like right about the time these pictures were taken at two weeks, I was back to normal. I love her so much.

Ashton comes up with very unique ideas. When he was 3 he wanted a Dr. Phil birthday party. lol. He decided on Sharks for his 6th birthday and he made a cake and Mommie made a cake.
